It looks like filmmaking is not the only passion of Lokesh Kanagaraj. In a recent interview for the promotions of his upcoming film, Leo, the director said that he was undergoing training in boxing!
Lokesh's tryst with boxing
Talking to popular television personality and host, Gopinath, Lokesh revealed that ever since he watched Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone's Rocky series, he has been drawn towards boxing. He revealed that he has been training in boxing for the last five months. Interestingly, it all started during the first schedule of Leo when the entire team was shooting in Kashmir.
Lokesh said that he has not been able to practice in the last few days as he was busy with the final touches to the film and involved in promotions. The director hopes that he resumes his practice soon after the release of Leo. He is also planning to get inside the boxing ring and play a match in January.
When asked if it can be said that Lokesh turns into a boxer, Lokesh said that he was planning to get into the sparring stage, but didn't indicate at becoming a professional boxer.
Countdown for Leo begins
In the meantime, Leo is gearing up for one of the biggest openings for a Thalapathy Vijay film. Ahimsa Entertainment, which is distributing the film in the UK, wrote a few hours ago, "Our UK family is showing massive love for #LEO and Thalapathy with an INSANE 73,500+ tickets sold. With thousands of showings across premieres, IMAX, and Superscreens, it’s going to be a monstrous record-breaking opening (sic)!" This is considered a massive opening for the Thalapathy.
Leo star cast and crew
The film marks the sophomore project between Vijay and Lokesh. The duo had teamed up for Master in 2021, which turned out to be a massive hit at the box office. Hence, expectations are high from this project as well.
