Telugu filmmakers and producers, who largely remained reluctant of the direct-to-OTT release boom in 2020, are finally embracing reality. Many small-budgeted films are now considering OTT releases with the belief that their content might get its due on digital platforms over theatres. Sailing in the same boat, the long-delayed Sree Vishnu, Megha Aakash and Sunanina-starrer Raja Raja Chora, helmed by Hasith Goli is now heading for a digital release on ZEE5.
Staying true to the title, Sree Vishnu in Raja Raja Chora plays a petty thief, Rajavarapu Bhaskar Raju, an engineering graduate by qualification. Shifting between burglary and his software job, Raja Raja Chora has a unique premise and is a funny take on how its eccentric protagonist handles the many hurdles that come his way. Megha Aakash and Sunaina play his romantic interests in the plot.
Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal under People Media Factory and Abhishek Agarwal Arts, Raja Raja Chora's streaming rights were bought by the ZEE group recently. The film's teaser was launched a few days and warranted the attention of crowds. The team came together for a Spaces conversation on Twitter as well and shared their experiences on working in the film. Pelli Choopulu composer Vivek Sagar has been roped in for the music, while Veda Raman Sankaran and Viplav Nyshadam serve as cinematographer and editor for the project.
