In a shocking turn of events, American actress Denise Richards and her husband experienced a near-fatal incident when a man opened fire at their truck in what has been called a road-rage incident in Los Angeles on Monday, according to a report by American entertainment website TMZ.

The couple was going to a studio and while Richards was on the passenger's seat, her husband Aaron Phypers was driving the truck. When they stopped looking for parking, an armed man behind them got irate and started screaming, the news report claimed. When the driver tried bringing his car in front of theirs, Aaron let him but the man still shot at the couple’s truck and hit the back of the driver's seat.

Luckily, no one was hurt or injured in the incident but it has been reported that Richards was left shaken and reached the set in tears. Upon arrival, one of the crew members spotted the bullet hole in her truck and called 911, according to the same report.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is still investigating the incident, which occurred near the intersection of Slauson and Western Avenues.

Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers started dating back in December 2018, and got married the same year in Malibu. The actress has worked in films such as Love Actually, Wild Things, Scary Movie 3, among others.

Denise Richards was earlier married to Two And A Half Men star Charlie Sheen for four years from 2002 to 2006 and the former couple has two daughters together: Sam and Lola Rose.
