Love Again, which was Priyanka Chopra Jonas' theatrical release this year with Sam Heughan, is all set for its Netflix premiere this year. Yes, the film that hit the big screen in May will be dropping on the streaming platform on September 20, 2023. The romantic comedy-drama is based on the 2016 German film SMS für Dich. Interestingly, that film was adapted from a novel by Sofie Cramer.

About the film:

Talking about Love Again, the film explores a chance text that makes the protagonists the love of each other's lives. Mira Ray (Priyanka) sends a series of romantic texts to her ex-fiance's old cell phone number. She doesn't realise that the number has been moved to Rob Burns' (Sam's) new work phone. Rob, a journalist, can't get enough of how honest the beautiful confessional notes are. When he is asked to write a profile of megastar Celine Dion (who is playing herself in her first movie part), he asks her to help him figure out how to meet Mira and win her heart.

Jim Strouse is the writer and director of Love Again, while Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Esther Hornstein are the producers.

Nick Jonas' surprise role:

For the uninitiated, Nick Jonas is also a part of the film, but in a special appearance. In an effort to get back out there, Mira goes on a date with Nick, who plays a personal trainer. Even though the date goes wrong, Mira chooses to kiss him in the taxi. But she soon starts to regret her choice when she finds out that her date is only interested in sex. Mira has had enough of his rude behaviour and chooses to end their cab ride early by kicking him out.

Earlier, during an interaction with Entertainment Weekly, Priyanka spoke about Nick's role, stating, "I was very excited about the fact that Nick agreed to do this because the scene was written as you saw it."

She further quipped, "They were going to cast a random actor who would’ve eventually had to lick my face during COVID, which meant that he had to quarantine for 14 days and sit in a hotel room just waiting to lick my face. It was just awful."
