Netflix teased its new South Korean original Love and Leashes with a brief snippet featuring Girls Generation member Seohyun and actor-singer Lee Jun-young.
Here is the logline of the film: "Ji-hoo, a perfect man with a unique sexual taste, and Ji-woo, a cold woman who found out his secret. A thrilling taste-respecting romance that began with a three-month contract."
In the teaser trailer, Seohyun's character is described as a "rookie domme", while Lee Jun-young's Ji-hoo is "expert sub."
According to NME, Love and Leashes has been adapted from webtoon Moral Sense by Gyeowool. The film is written and directed by Park Hyun-jin. It will stream globally on Netflix from February 11.
An NME report states that Don Kang, Netflix Korea’s Vice President of Content had revealed the streamer's intentions to continue investing in South Korean content this year.
In recent times, the streamer's original K-dramas like Squid Game, Hellbound, My Name and The Silent Sea received extremely positive responses from a global audience.
The second season of survival drama Squid Game is already in the works. Recently, the show earned three nominations at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards —Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor, for Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun, Player 456; Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor, for Jung Ho-Yeon as Kang Sae-byeok, the North Korean Player 067; and an overall award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble Series.
Among its slate of new Korean shows, Netflix is also readying to premiere All of Us Are Dead, a zombie apocalypse drama on January 28.
