Darling Krishna and Milana Nagaraj have a special connect with Valentine’s Day. In 2020, Krishna’s directorial debut, Love Mocktail, which had him in the lead along with Milana came out around Valentine’s Day, a year later, they got married on the day of love and in 2022, they brought Love Mocktail 2 as a Valentine’s Day presentation. This year, the duo reunites onscreen for PC Shekar’s romantic drama Love Birds, which hits theatres on February 17.
Love Birds, according to the filmmaker is a film that explores the transitions that occur in the lives of a guy and a girl after they’ve entered into wedlock. In the process of setting up home, either with an extended family or as a nuclear unit, there are ups and downs the couple will face, and Love Birds is an exploration about these facets of a marital relationship, he had said during a press interaction for a song launch.
A little while ago, the team released the trailer without much fanfare. As per the trailer, Krishna as software engineer Deepak and Milana as fashion designer Pooja, appear to be reliving some of their Love Mocktail moments, as a much in love couple, but who then encounter problems along the way. Whether they can find a way around it, given that it is mutually beneficial for them to stay together, or if the stress of it gets the better of them is what the film is about. It also stars Samyukta Hornad, Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Veena Sundar, Kaddipudi Chandru, Avinash, among others. The film, produced by Kaddipudi Chandru, has music by Arjun Janya, which is his ninth collaboration with Shekar. The team has already managed to sell the digital rights, with Amazon Prime Video scooping it up.
