Love Is Blind made its Netflix debut in 2020 and has been one of the most followed till date. However, now, a few participants from the show have come forward and expressed the kind of situation they survived in while on the sets. From ignoring mental health to not receiving adequate food and water on sets, they were almost traumatized. The show’s creator has now responded to the same.

Where did it all start?

Jeremy Hartwell, a participant on season 2, sued Netflix and the production company Kinetic Content for ‘inhumane working conditions.’ Nick Thompson and Danielle Ruhl reported something on similar lines. They told Insider that show did not provide mental health support.

Production House responds

Kinetic Content denied the claims and now, Chris Coelen opened up to Variety, who shares that the cast is both physically and mentally protected from the moment they join till the time the cameras roll.

Daniel Ruhl’s experience

Daniel got married to Nick Thompson on season 2 and did share that she had a lovely experience while shooting overall. However, she recalled a particular incident in Mexico. She told Variety that she had a panic attack and even informed the producers that she was having suicidal thoughts and didn’t trust herself. She wanted to leave the show. Chris, however, affirms that the conversation never happened.

Coelen further spilled that two psychologists are present on sets, constantly watching the contestants from the control room. During the getaway too, the couples get a hotline for a specialist who is available 24x7. The makers had also promised Daniel the opportunity to reimburse the cost of post-filming therapy. While it is also believed that there could be a penalty for leaving the show, that does not hold true. Diamond Jack, Carlton Morton, Shaina Hurley and Kyle Abrams are among those who walked out of the show without paying a penny.
