Anshuman Jha is a well-known, yet highly underrated actor who has delivered various notable performances. From Love Sex Aur Dhokha to Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain and Lakadbaggha, Jha has displayed his acting chops in every project he starred in. But now the actor has a new role to essay in real life, that of a father.
Baby Tara was born early, four days before the due date
Anshuman Jha and his wife, athelete-chef-writer Sierra Winters welcomed a baby girl, Tara on March 10. In a candid short interview on March 13, the actor revealed how things have been a “blur” for the last 48 hours, as his wife had a long and arduous labor. Though the delivery date was March 14, 2024, aka ‘Pi Day’, Sierra’s labor was induced on March 8, Maha Shivaratri, and had gone on for nearly two days.
Baby Tara was born on March 10 and Angshuman Jha finds it a “surreal experience” unlike any he ever had before. Though determination of the sex of babies before birth is legal in the United States, Anshuman Jha and his wife refused to do it as they wanted the baby’s gender to be a surprise even for them.
Anshuman Jha’s view on women and the benefits of having grandparents nearby
A firm believer that women are the smartest people on earth, Jha had already begun calling their baby Pi. Seems Tara already has a nickname from her adoring parents. Anshuman Jha further revealed to Hindustan Times the reason they chose to give birth in the United States. He explained that having grandparents close can make a big difference and shared that he had lost his own parents in 2020.
As Sierra Winters’ mother has raised three of her own kids, having the maternal grandparents close and present for the first few months would be highly helpful for both Tara and her parents. Anshuman wrapped up the conversation by expressing that it is nice to finally have some family around.
