Phool Aur Kaante
In the year 1991, Vishal Veeru Devgan aka Ajay Devgn saw the release of the film The film saw the birth of Bollywood’s new action hero, who could effortlessly communicate with his eyes. It is this film Phool Aur Kaante that gave Bollywood its very own action hero!

Ditto with the case of Rohit Shetty’s Singham. By the time Rohit Shetty’s Singham had been released, Ajay Devgn had already established himself as a no-nonsense actor in Bollywood. There have been times when he had done romantic films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, U Me Aur Hum and others.

Wanted
This is one film that has really done wonders for the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who had been voted as one of the handsome men in the world! Even though he had done his Bollywood debut with Biwi Ho Toh Aisi, Salman Khan went and ‘Khan-quered’ the world with his oh-so-romantic performance in Maine Pyar Kiya, a film that went on to create box office magic and how! This was followed by an array of his other films like Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Biwi No. 1 and many more.

This was followed by his portrayal of hopelessly romantic Radhe Bhaiya in Tere Naam, which had the svelte Bhumika Chawla as his co-star. Even though there were not too many action scenes in the film. But, whatever action scenes that Salman Khan was seen doing in the film was enough for the audiences to see him in an action hero mould!

There was also Boney Kapoor’s film Wanted that, Salman Khan escalated himself to be an action hero, besides being a romantic one! The fights and the aggression in the film was just next to real. This status of Salman Khan’s action hero image was furthermore enhanced with the Dabanngg series. Even though his leading ladies in the film may have changed, the audiences simply love him seamlessly as the Dabanngg Khan!

Karan Arjun
Who could have ever thought that the man who is a living God of romance can do such unbelievable action! We are indeed talking about the one and only King Khan of Bollywood aka shah Rukh Khan! After having made his debut in Bollywood with romantic films like Deewana, Shah Rukh Khan went on to do films of the same ‘genre’ till the time films like Karan Arjun and Josh happened to him.

While he showed his angry side with these films, he also showed his negative side in films like Darr, Anjaam and others. And after a few years, there comes a Pathaan and a Jawaan, which set the box office on fire!

Gadar
Who doesn’t remember the oh-so-handsome dude in the hit film Betaab, a film that has Bollywood its very own Sunny Deol, who went on to become a name to reckon with on the silver screen. Post that, there were many films in which he pushed the envelope and tried his hand in action as well. Even though these films did well at the box office, it took a Gadar to catapult this man into the league of action heroes. Who on earth can forget the aggression with which he enacted the famous and cult hand pump scene in the film!

Force
Prior to this film, the hunky John Abraham was seen doing light hearted and also comedy films. There have been times, when his muscular physique was flexed, but, for not so memorable action scenes. In the year 2011 came a film titled Force, which established John as the action hero that cinegoers were yearning for. The film saw John Abraham in a never before avatar, wherein he did total justice to his muscular physique.

It is this very film in which John made many jaws drop with awe as he picked up a 115 kg bike as a requirement for a particular scene in the film! Since then, there was no looking back for Johnny boy!
