Lover Day 3 box office collection – Manikandan-starrer makes impressive weekend numbers; here’re the details

Manikandan’s latest outing Lover, directed by Prabhuram Vyas, has undoubtedly received immense love from the audience. The film, which hit the big screens on February 9, opened to positive reception from fans and critics who praised the film’s screenplay and impressive performances by lead actors Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya. The film, which collected over Rs 1 crore on its opening day, has minted approximately Rs 2.96 crore during the weekend, as per latest reports. The movie had 29.7% Tamil occupancy rate and is expected to cash in on this Valentine’s Week as well.  

The film clashed with films such as Aishwarya Rajinikanth directorial Lal Salaam, Ravi Teja-starrer Eagle and Tovino Thomas-starrer Anweshippin Kandethum but was able to perform better than these big releases. Despite being a small-budget film, the Manikandan-starrer managed to capture the audiences’ hearts through its realistic storyline.

All about Manikandan’s Lover

Directed by Prabhuram Vyas, the romantic drama centres around Arun and Divya (played by Manikandan and Sri Gouri Priya). The couple, who have been together for around 6 years, face relationship setbacks due to Arun’s controlling behaviour towards Divya, who is unsure about their future. How they navigate these obstacles and will they be able to resolve their issues forms the crux of the story. Saravanan, Geetha Kailasam, Harish Kumar, Nikhila Shankar, Rini, Pintu Pandu, and Arunachaleshwaran play supporting roles, while Kanna Ravi also plays a pivotal role in the film. The technical crew consists of Shreyaas Krishna as the cinematographer and Sean Roldan as the music director. Barath Vikraman is the editor of Lover. 

 The movie is backed by Nazerath Pasilian, Magesh Raj Pasilian and Yuvaraj Ganesan under the banners Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment.

Lover OTT partner revealed

 According to latest reports, Manikandan-starrer Lover’s digital rights have been sold to a major OTT giant. Reports suggest that the film will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar after its theatrical run. However, official confirmation is awaited.
