Lubber Pandhu update: Attakathi Dinesh and Harish Kalyan’s film to release in September, trailer out on this date

We had earlier reported that actors Attakathi Dinesh and Harish Kalyan will be starring in an upcoming cricket-based sports drama titled Lubber Pandhu. The makers recently announced that the film will hit theatres in September, with the trailer releasing very soon.

Lubber Pandhu to release in September

After cricket-based films like Blue Star and Lal Salaam hitting big screens this year, Lubber Pandhu is the latest film to release in the genre. The film stars Attakathi Dinesh and Harish Kalyan in the lead roles and will be based on street cricket which is very popular in India. The makers of Lubber Pandhu announced that the film is all set to hit big screens in September. The trailer of the film will be released on Wednesday, which is expected to have release date.

The emotional drama is directed by debutant filmmaker Tamizharasan Pachamuthu. Besides Harish Kalyan and Attakathi Dinesh, the film also stars Swaswika and Sanjana Krishnamoorthy as the female leads. Lubber Pandhu will also mark the filmmaker’s directorial debut. The technical crew consists of music composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman and G Madan as the editor.

It is to be noted that the director had earlier revealed that Lubber Pandhu is a dedication to the late and veteran actor Vijayakanth, with Dinesh playing a fan of the late actor. Tamizharasan also said that the film will be loaded with Vijayakanth’s references.

September releases in Tamil

So far, two Tamil films have set their release dates in September. While Vijay-starrer The GOAT is releasing on September 5, Karthi’s Meiyazhagan will come on September 27. The between weeks of the month are expected to witness release of small and medium-scale films. In all likely, Lubber Pandhu will also see a release in mid-September.

In addition to this, Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi’s Kadaisi Ulaga Por is also eyeing for a September release. The makers are yet to announce the release date.
