Luv Ranjan at his quirky best with upcoming Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar

If the idea behind the title of a film is to introduce the world to the story through words, then it won't be an exaggeration to say that filmmaker Luv Ranjan has done it yet again with his latest film -- the Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

Luv has been indulging in this wordplay since 2011, when he debuted as a film director with Pyaar Ka Punchnama -- a film that made Kartik Aaryan an overnight star, and gifted talented actors, like Divyendu Sharma and Nushrat Bharucha.

This continued with films and series that he directed, wrote and produced, like Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Life Sahi Hai, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and now, Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.

The curiosity around the title of the film began from the time people got to know that Luv is working with Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. However, it is interesting to note that though a few pictures from the shooting location were leaked on the internet, no one knew the title of the film until it was officially announced.

The film is a rom-com that was shot extensively in Delhi, Mumbai and Ghaziabad, as well as in international locations of Spain and Mauritius.

The film is written by Rahul Mody and Luv Ranjan, and the casting of the film is as quirky as its title. This is the first time that veteran film producer and the father of Janhvi Kapoor, Boney Kapoor, will be seen as an actor. He will be seen with veteran actress Dimple Kapadia.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, produced by Luv Films and T-Series, is all set to release in theatres on March 8, 2023.
