The trailer for Maa, Divya Dutta and Gippy Grewal's upcoming drama, was released today.

The clip shows a young and pregnant Manjit Kaur (Divya) who along with her husband (played by Gurpreet Ghuggi) adopt a toddler after his mother's untimely passing. And when she does, she declares that from today, she now has not one but two sons.

All is well until the land she has ploughed and worked on for years is eyes by a wealthy man. But Manjit is resistant, protective and brave in the face of this adversity. "She's not an ordinary woman but a mountain of iron," is how she's described. The man and his crony devise a way to get under her skin so she would give away her property.

The trailer gives a glimpse into the drama, action and the sentimental dialogues that the audience should expect from what seems like an interesting ode to motherhood. The entirety of the clip is set to the movie's song 'Rabb Da Roop' sung by Harbhajan Mann.

Maa is written by Rana Ranbir and directed by Baljit Singh Deo. The cast also includes Rana along with Prince Kanwaljit Singh, Raghveer Boli, Vadda Grewal, Aarushi Sharma, Ashish Duggal, Nirmal Rishi, Gurpreet Bhangu, Tarsem Paul, Parkash Gadhu, and Rupinder Rupi.

The movie is produced by Ravneet Kaur Grewal and Gippy via Humble Motion Pictures.

Maa is set to have its theatrical release on May 6, which coincides with the Mother's Day weekend.
