Maaman box office collection day 15: Soori’s film is a family drama exploring the bond between a man and his young nephew.

Maaman, the recently released Tamil family drama starring actor Soori in the lead role, has been performing well at the B and C centres, given its plot and portrayal of joint families. The film has collected Rs 28 crore during its two weeks of run in theatres. Maaman is expected to continue its run for another couple of weeks before it makes its OTT debut.
Comedian-turned-actor Soori, known for his films like Viduthalai duology and Kottukkaali, recently appeared in a Tamil family drama titled Maaman. The film features Kaanekkaane actor Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead.
Maaman, directed by Vilangu fame Prasanth Pandiyaraj, is a family drama, which released in theatres on May 16. The film is currently running on big screens and has been doing well in villages and towns, thanks to its family sentiments, even though Maaman opened to middling reviews. As per Sacnilk, Maaman has collected Rs 28 crore at the box office in India. The film was released alongside Santhanam's DD Next Level. Maaman is expected to run for a few more days, giving it a high possibility to touch the half mark of Rs 100 crore.
The post-theatrical streaming rights of Maaman have been bagged by ZEE5. The film will also be available on OTTplay Premium soon, sometime in June. Maaman is produced by Lark Studios and also features Rajkiran, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Swasika, Baba Baskar, and Master. Prageeth Sivan, Bala Saravanan, Jaya Prakash, Viji Chandrasekar, Geetha Kailasam, Chaya Devi, Nikhila Sankar, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Melvin, Trichy Ananthi, Savithri, Saratha, Tamilselvi, Rail Ravi, Umesh Kanth.
The film is shot by Dinesh Purushothaman, with music composed by Hridayam-fame Hesham Abdul Wahab. Ganesh Siva is the editor. It revolves around the bond between a maternal uncle and his young nephew, and how the overbearing and attached relationship causes issues between the man and his wife.
