Maaman OTT release date: Directed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj, the family drama explores themes of emotional bonds and boundaries, particularly between a man and his nephew

Maaman, the 2025 Tamil film starring comedian-turned-actor Soori in the lead role, had a good theatrical run, as many are still waiting for the film’s release on OTT. We had earlier reported that the streaming rights have been bagged by ZEE5, and audience can watch the film on OTTplay Premium. While the platform is yet to announce the streaming premiere on OTT officially, as per reports, Maaman is expected to stream from July 5 onwards.
Maaman is a family drama directed by filmmaker Prasanth Pandiyaraj, who had earlier made the critically acclaimed web series Vilangu. Maaman released in theatres on May 16, and had a good run, especially at theatres in small towns and villages, owing to its family sentiments.
While ZEE5 has bagged the OTT rights of the film, a release date is yet to be announced, given it has been more than a month since the film released. Reports suggest that the streaming platform has locked July 5 as release date. An official announcement on Maaman OTT release date is expected to be made soon.
Maaman is essentially a family drama between a man who is so fond of his sister’s son, that they form a strong emotional bond over years. This overtly attached relationship between the man and his nephew creates a problem about boundaries and privacy when the man gets married and his wife does not get enough time to spend with her husband, thanks to the child who constantly comes in between them. The film explores the themes of privacy and family boundaries.
Directed Prasanth Pandiyaraj in his first collaboration with Soori, the film is produced by Lark Studios. Apart from Soori, it features Aishwarya Lekshmi playing Soori’s wife, while the rest of the cast features actors like Rajkiran, Swasika, Baba Baskar, and Master. Prageeth Sivan, Bala Saravanan, Jaya Prakash, Viji Chandrasekar, Geetha Kailasam, Chaya Devi, Nikhila Sankar, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Melvin, Trichy Ananthi, Savithri, Saratha, Tamilselvi, Rail Ravi, Umesh Kanth.
The technical crew consists of cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman, composer Hesham Abdul Wahab and Ganesh Siva as the editor.
