Maaman, the 2025 Tamil film, found its streaming partner just two and a half months after its theatrical release. Based on the story of a young man and his nephew, the Soori-starrer started streaming on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium from August 8, 2025. However, the Telugu version was not available for streaming.
Maaman now out in Telugu and Kannada on OTTplay Premium
The latest update is that Maaman is now available in Telugu and Kannada on Zee5 from August 27, 2025, marking the festive release. All those who were waiting for the family drama can also stream the film here on OTTplay. Directed by Prashanth Pandiyaraj, Maaman also features Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead.
Rajkiran, Swasika, Baba Bhaskar, Master Prageeth Sivan, and Bala Saravanan were also seen in key roles. Hesham Abdul Wahab composed the music for this film, which was backed by K Kumar. Soori became quite popular in Telugu for his performance in Viduthalai, which was also a decent hit.
Maaman basic backdrop and storyline
Prashanth Pandiyaraj had earlier directed the web series Vilangu and narrated this family drama in a very emotional and gripping manner. Maaman tells the story of Inba, who loves his sister's son, Laddu. However, things change after his marriage to Rekha, when Laddu starts creating tensions between the couple. How all this is addressed forms the basic story of the film.
Maaman has a rural setting and is narrated in a very realistic manner. Those who enjoy such realistic family dramas will surely connect with Maaman. Though the film did not receive highly positive feedback from critics, it performed well at the box office. Now that the film is out in Telugu, it remains to be seen how it fares in the days to come.
