Overseas fans of Silambarasan will now be able to catch his political thriller, Maanaadu on the big screen soon. The film will be distributed in American theatres by Great India Films.

Great India Films earlier caught the media's eye when they released Baahubali 2 in over 1000 overseas screens.

In an official statement, they recently announced Maanaadu’s release in over 150 areas of the US. They will also be releasing, yet another Prabhas-starrer, the much-awaited romantic drama Radhe Shyam next year in January.

The distribution firm also claims to have screened over 15 movies, this year and the only one to screen South Indian films in US theatres during the pandemic after getting the nod.

Talking about Maanaadu, the upcoming Silambarasan-starrer was earlier scheduled to clash with Rajinikanth’s Annaathe on Diwali. It was ultimately pushed to November 25 due to the unavailability of adequate screens.

The Venkat Prabhu outing also stars Kalyani Priyadharshan, SJ Suryah, SA Chandrasekar, Premgi, Karunakaran, Anjena Kirti and Manoj Bharathiraja among others in key roles.

Details on its digital release in Tamil is yet to be announced officially, although its Telugu version will premiere on digital platform Aha. Titled The Loop in Telugu and Kannada, its trailer was earlier launched by Nanu and Rakshit Shetty.

The film will have elements of science fiction for its portrayal of a time-loop concept. Maanaadu will feature Silambarasan in an intriguing avatar in the role of Abdul Khaaliq. We will get to see the layers in his character and the movie ultimately after the film’s release.
