Maareesan teaser: Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu’s reunion promises an intriguing tale of two men

We had earlier reported that actors Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil will once again team up after Maamannan, for a film titled Maareesan. The makers on Wednesday released the teaser of the film on social media.

Maareesan teaser is out now: Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu team up one more time

Maareesan is an upcoming Tamil film starring actors Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in the lead roles. The duo had earlier worked in Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan. On Wednesday, the teaser of the film was unveiled by the makers on social media. Directed by Sudheesh Sankar, the film is bankrolled by RB Choudary under the Super Good Films banner. Maareesan is the 100th venture of Super Good Films.

The teaser begins with an old Tamil song being played as we see a bird's eye view of village landscapes. We see the old song from Maya Bazaar continue as Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu are travelling on a bike. As the song continues, we see various glimpses of both the characters travelling together. The tone of the glimpse seems to be getting serious as one of them slaps the other, and the video ends on Vadilvelu singing the song. It looks like Vadivelu, who has made us laugh with films like Chandramukhi and Friends, will be playing a serious character once again.

Besides Vadivelu and the Bougainvillea actor, the cast of Maareesan also includes Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, PL Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja.

The makers recently revealed that the film will release in July, with a date yet to be set. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights and Maareesan will be available to run after the film finishes its theatrical run.

The story, screenplay and dialogues for the upcoming film is done by V Krishna Moorthy who is also the creative director. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music with Kalaiselvan Sivaji cranking the camera. Sreejith Sarang is the editor.

Meanwhile, you can stream Maamannan, a political drama which stars Fahadh Faasil as an antagonist, alongside actors Vadivelu, Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh. It is on Netflix.
