Vijay Antony, who was last seen in Hitler, will be starring in an upcoming Tamil detective drama. The film which was called Gagana Maargan, is now called Maargan. It will release in theatres on June 27, the makers announced on social media on Wednesday.

The film is directed by Leo John Paul and is presented by Vijay Antony’s home banner Vijay Antony Films Corporation. Leo John Paul has previously worked as an editor in films like Attakathi , Soodhu Kavvum , Indru Netru Naalai, among other films. He will make his directorial debut with Maargan. He also won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Editor for the 2013 Tamil film Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara. Maargan has undergone a title change from Gagana Maargan.

Touted to be a murder mystery crime thriller, the film delves into the world of detective fiction. Vijay Antony will be playing the role of a high-ranking police officer. Apart from Vijay Antony, others part of the cast include actors Samuthirakani, Brigida Saga, Mahanathi Shankar, Prithika, Vinodh Sagar, Deepshikha, Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru Archana, Kanimozhi, and Anthagaram Natarajan. Vijay Antony’s nephew Ajay Dhishan will be making his acting debut and will play the antagonist.

The technical crew of Gagana Maargan includes Yuva S as cinematographer and Raja A as art director. Besides starring in the film, Vijay Antony will also be scoring the music for the film. The post-theatrical rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video.
