Director Suku Purvaj, who shot to fame with the actioner Shukra (currently streaming on Amazon Prime), helmed his second film earlier this year, Maataraani Mounamidhi. The film starred newcomers Mahesh Datta, Srihari Udayagiri, Soni Srivastava in key roles and had a brief theatrical run too. Produced by Vasudev Rajapantula and Prabhakar D under Rudra Pictutes, the thriller is now gearing up for its OTT premiere.
Telugu OTT platform aha has acquired the streaming rights of Maataraani Mounamidhi and plans to premiere it on the platform by the end of the month, suggest reports. Sanjai Raai, Chandu, Archana Ananth, Suman Shetty, Kasi Raju, Pramodh and Keshav form the supporting cast of the film. With music by Asheer Luke, the film had cinematography by Sivaram Charan and was edited by Shiva Sarvani. Madhura Audio had acquired its audio rights.
The story revolves around Ram (Mahesh Datta) and his nephew Eshwar (Sanjai Raai). While Eshwar marries Ram’s sister, she passes away early in life. When Ram meets Eshwar out of the blues, a gardener finds a ring and offers it to Ram. The latter soon meets Seetha (Soni Srivastava), a speech impaired girl. Ram and Seetha fall for one another in no time. In due course, Ram begins to experience a series of eerie events in Eshwar’s house owing to the ring. What's in store for Ram and Eshwar?
The film received impressive reviews upon its theatrical release, with critics hailing the plot, the performances of the lead and its music score. Will the twist-a-minute thriller get its due on OTT? We'll know soon.
