Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran is all set to hit screens on July 14. The latest we hear is that Sivakarthikeyan has taken a break from the hectic schedule of SK 21 in Kashmir and has arrived in Hyderabad for the promotions of Maaveeran. Sivakarthikeyan will travel to Kochi tomorrow and reach Bangalore on Monday for the promotions. The tour will culminate with a press meet in Chennai.
The film, directed by Madonne Ashwin, has Aditi Shankar playing the leading lady. Going by the film's trailer, Sivakarthikeyan plays a cartoonist at a media firm, whose sketches on the fictional character Maaveeran come to life. And whenever that happens, a completely timid Sivakarthikeyan, becomes a courageous man and takes on his nemesis head on. The trailer has won the hearts of many and has already surpassed 6 million views.
Aditi Shankar plays Sivakarthikeyan's colleague, and Mysskin will essay the prime antagonist. Sarita playS Sivakarthikeyan's mother.
Bharath Shankar has scored the music and the third single from the film, Vaa Veera was released yesterday. The song is sung by Bharath Shankar himself and Vaikom Vijayalakshmi. While Vidhu Ayyanna has handled the cinematography, Philomin is in charge of editing. Arun Viswa of Shanthi Talkies is bankrolling the project.
The film has been cleared with the U/A certificate and the bilingual will be released in Telugu as Mahaveerudu. The digital rights of the film have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video.
As for SK 21, Sivakarthikeyan's look has been kept under wraps. The film is directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. Sivakarthikeyan had earlier expressed his happiness about working in a film bankrolled by Kamal Haasan.
Sivakarthikeyan is also awaiting the release of Ayalaan, the sci-fi flick, which is said to be the actor's first ever pan-Indian project. The film is all set to hit screens for Diwali this year.
