MAD was a smash hit at the box office and made many careers. But it achieved cult status when it landed on Netflix, as the comedy and repeated streaming of the film gave birth to its franchise. The makers of Jersey, Sithara Entertainment, did not waste any time, announced MAD Square, and released the film on March 28, 2025.

As the film already had a cult fan base, the hype for the film was huge. Also, as the trailer was entertaining, MAD 2 saw solid openings and ended as a smash hit at the box office, making just over Rs 70 crore gross. This is huge as the film was made under Rs 10 crore.
We at OTTplay were the first ones to reveal that Netflix has also bagged the OTT rights to the sequel and will stream MAD Square from April 25, 2025. Well, the same has happened as MAD Square is now streaming on Netflix in Hindi and all the other southern languages.
Kalyan Shankar directed the film, which is about a bunch of college friends and how they land in Goa under chaotic conditions. RRR fame Jr NTR's brother-in-law, Narne Nithin, plays one of the leads in the film, and this is his biggest hit of his career.
Jr NTR promoted MAD 2 in Hyderabad
Jr NTR attended a promotional event in Hyderabad, and the craze of the film went to another level. Ram Nithin and Sangeeth Shoban of Oka Chinna Family series also played key roles in this film produced by Naga Vamsi. MAD 2 is a bigger hit when compared to MAD, and the makers saw three times the profit. Speaking in an interview, producer Naga Vamsi stated that more parts in the franchise will surely be made in the days to come.
As of now, Sithara Entertainments is gearing up for the release of their new film, Kingdom, featuring Vijay Deverakonda as the main lead.
