About Madam Sengupta
Madam Sengupta is a 2025 Bengali-language crime thriller where Rituparna Sengupta plays Anurekha, a grieving cartoonist who investigates her daughter's murder, uncovering a series of poetic murders related to her estranged ex-husband's controversial drama.
The story involves hidden political rivalries and secrets, with Rahul Bose playing the role of a journalist assisting her in her investigation and Kaushik Sen playing the role of the ex-husband.
Anurekha, a cartoonist, returns to Kolkata after her daughter, Ananya, is brutally murdered. Ananya had a strained relationship with her mother, who blamed her for her father's absence. Anurekha, with the help of her journalist friend Ranjan Banerjee (Rahul Bose), begins to unleash a series of poetic murders, referencing the characters in Sukumar Ray's satire "Abol Tabol".
