Wedding bells are soon to chime in every viewer's ears with Made in Heaven’s latest season in the works. The second season of the web series that will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, has reportedly roped in some big Bollywood names to star in it including Dia Mirza, Jacqueline Fernandez, Radhika Apte, Neelam Kothari, Mrunal Thakur and Shibani Dandekar.
According to a report by The Indian Express, the seasoned actresses will play the role of brides in the romantic drama. Just as the first season, the latest season too is said to feature different weddings in each episode.
Set in Delhi, Made in Heaven follows the journey of two wedding planners who run the titular wedding agency. Each episode revolves around a wedding that the duo plan. In addition to the clamour, emotions and even high-tension environment that are characteristic of a ‘big fat Indian wedding', the viewers also get a glimpse into the personal lives of the planners who are supposed to make it all work smooth without a snag, even while battling personal demons.
The first season of the show opened to critical acclaim, with both critics and audiences lauding how the show authentically portrayed the darker side of the Indian wedding industry on-screen. Arjun Mathur and Sobhita Dhulipala star as the two leads, with the former being nominated for the prestigious International Emmy Award for his role. Talking about the show, Mathur has hinted that the second season will take over its predecessor in terms of complexity and power.
Created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, the show’s first season also saw Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora, Kalki Koechlin and Shivani Raghuvanshi grace the screen. Made in Heaven’s second season, which started shooting in early February, had witnessed several delays in its production due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Further details on the show and its release date are yet to be announced.
