According to the Sacnilk report, Madharaasi has made Rs 13 crore on day one, which is significant. Given the weekend, and no major Tamil releases to compete, Madharaasi is expected to have a strong hold for some more days.

In Madharaasi, Sivakarthikeyan plays a man with Fregoli delusion, who is recruited by NIA to bust a gun-trafficking syndicate run by two men from north India. It revolves around Sivakarthikeyan’s character who must become the man to save the state from becoming accustomed to gun in people’s hands. The film features Rukmini Vasanth as female lead, with actors Biju Menon, Vikranth, Vidyut Jammwal, Shabeer Kallarakkal in important roles. Filled with raw action, romance, and a message about the gun culture, Madharaasi shows Sivakarthikeyan in an out-and-out action avatar.

Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. With music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film is shot by cinematographer Sudeep Elamon and edited by Sreekar Prasad.
