Madharaasi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, is releasing in theatres on September 5. The action thriller, which is coming during the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi and Miladi Nabi, is the next big release. Madharaasi has completed its censor process and has received a U/A certificate from the authorities. Madharaasi is touted to be an action thriller and will have a runtime close to two hours and 45 minutes. Interestingly, the trailer of Madharaasi was certified A.

While the plot of the film has not yet been leaked, Madharaasi will have Sivakarthikeyan flex his muscles and will have plenty of high-octane action sequences. AR Murugadoss also said that the film will be a sort of warning on an important issue. The film will have Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth play the female lead, making it her second Tamil film after this year’s Ace.

Madharaasi also features Vidyut Jammwal playing the antagonist, making his return to Tamil cinema after 11 years since his last release Anjaan in 2014. Actors Biju Menon, Vikranth, Shabeer Kallarakkal, and others are also part of the cast. Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music for the film. Shot by Sudeep Elamon, the film is edited by Sreekar Prasad. The film’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Prime Video.
