The first single from the upcoming Tamil film Madharaasi, Salambala, is out! Starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, and directed by AR Murugadoss, the film is an action thriller set to release on September 5.

Madharaasi, the highly anticipated Tamil action thriller written and directed by AR Murugadoss and starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, has begun its promotions with the release of first single. Salambala, crooned by Sai Abhyankkar and composed by Anirudh Ravichander is now out to enjoy.
While there has been a delay in the release of Salambala, the makers first released the song on Spotify. The fast, and foot-tapping number is a love failure song. It marks the first time Sai Abhyankkar and Anirudh are collaborating. Super Subbu has penned the lyrics for Salambala.
For the unknown, Sai Abhyankkar is a composer himself, who has about six projects in the pipeline including Suriya-starrer Karuppu, Atlee and Allu Arjun’s film, and Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude.

Produced under the Sri Lakshmi Movies banner, Madharaasi marks AR Murugadoss’ first collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan, who headlines a star-studded cast including Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Vikranth, Shabeer Kallarakkal, and others. The technical crew features cinematography by Sudeep Elamon, and editing by A Sreekar Prasad. After completing shooting in early 2025, the film is in the final stages of post-production. Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film.
The film is slated for theatrical release on September 5, along with two other Tamil films; Vijay Antony’s Shakthi Thirumagan and debutant Varsha Bharath’s Bad Girl.
