Madhuvidhu: Sharaf U Dheen-Kalyani Panicker's romcom gets a new release date

The producers of the upcoming Malayalam film Madhuvidhu have changed the date of its theatrical release. The romantic comedy featuring Sharaf U Dheen will now hit the big screen in May.

When is Madhuvidhu release date?

With a new poster, the makers confirmed its release on May 1. The family entertainer was originally scheduled to make her debut on Valentine's Day in 2026. A poster indicating the film's later release date was dropped by the makers, however no precise date was set then. Madhuvidhu was presumably delayed to prevent conflict with Jayaram's Ashakal Ayiram and Bhavana's Anomie on February 6. The other films that came out during Valentine's Week were Sukhamano Sukhamann, a romantic comedy starring Mathew Thomas, and Pennum Porattum, directed by Rajesh Madhavan. 

It is clear that the makers hope to make the most from the public holiday pulling crowd to theatres. There are currently no other Malayalam films scheduled for release on the same day. However, Mollywood Times, Athiradi, and Kattalan—three other highly awaited films—will all be released in the same month.

Vishnu Aravind is the director of Madhuvidhu, which was written by Bibin Mohan and Jai Vishnu. This film will mark the acting debut of Kalyani Panicker, the daughter of renowned Malayalam actress Bindu Panicker. Jagadish, Azees Nedumangad, Saikumar, Sreejaya, Amal Jose, and Sanju Madhu are among the other well-known actors in the movie. Sarkeet's producers are backing the film. The film's soundtracks have been composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
