Maeri: Sai Deodhar aka Tara's fight for her daughter begins after law fails to provide justice | Watch new promo

ZEE5's latest series, Maeri stars Sai Deodhar in the lead role. The plot follows Sai's character Tara Deshpande fighting to provide justice to her 18-year-old daughter, Manasvi (Tanvi Mundle) after she was brutally gang-raped. Hours after the release, the makers shared a new promo of the show.

On December 7, ZEE5 shared a new promo of Maeri. The clip covers the plot of the series as it shows how Tara Deshpande's (Sai Deodhar) daughter, Manasvi gets gang-raped. After the law and police fail to provide Manasvi justice, Tara begins her fight to protect her daughter. She takes things into her own hands and decides to punish those criminals. She says, "Now I will do what a mother does for her daughter. If something wrong is done to right the wrong, it isn't considered wrong."

While sharing the promo, they captioned it, "For every tear her daughter shed, her mother will seek vengeance—no matter what. #Maeri streaming now only on #ZEE5."

Sai Deodhar on playing Tara Deshpande in Maeri

Sai played the role of Tara, a chemistry teacher and a doting mother and a wife. Speaking about her role in Maeri, Sai told IANS that playing Tara Deshpande has been an incredibly intense and emotional journey for her.

She added, "Tara is a mother who is pushed to her limits by an unimaginable tragedy, and her quest for justice becomes both her strength and her burden." She also added that she is thrilled to be a part of this powerful story and bring Tara's story to life.

The series has been receiving positive responses from viewers and they have praised the plot and performances of the actors. 

Meanwhile, Maeri is a revenge drama series that combines suspense, human relationships and complex personal conflicts, focusing on the complex bond between a mother, father and daughter — each struggling with their own truth and the consequences of their choices.
