Mahalaya is round the corner and all the private channels have geared up to present their Mahishasurmardini. While Rituparna Sengupta will play the character of Devi in Colors Bangla, Sonamoni Roy of Mohor fame may play the lead character in Star Jalsa’s presentation. Sonamoni plays the lead in the ongoing mega serial Ekka Dokka. Meanwhile, Solanki, who plays Khori in Gaatchora, may be seen as one of the avatars of Devi Durga,

In an interaction with Anandabazar Patrika, Sonamoni said that there has been no official announcement from the channel’s side. However, confirming the news of her participation in the show she said that this will be her first time in Mahishasuramardini and she is excited about it. Meanwhile, Sean Banerjee is all geared up to debut on the big screen with Kabir Lal’s Antardrishti with Rituparna Sengupta. For Mon Phagun, Sean received several awards. “Over the years, I realised that television serials put forward their best effort to keep the audience hooked to the TV. A great deal of care is taken while writing such scripts. I love my job,” Sean told us.
