In honour of Ajay Devgn's birthday, the makers of Maidaan have dropped the jaw-dropping final trailer for the film. Featured are several of the ever-changing obstacles that Coach S. Abdul Rahim and the Indian football squad overcame on their way to penning football history books for our nation.
Coach Syed Abdul Rahim's struggle
In the trailer, we see Ajay as Rahim struggling but not giving up while finding all-rounder footballers across the country who will represent India on a global level. Even after gaining independence from the British in 1947, the lesser-known story explores how India remained divided on the basis of religion and states.

Maidaan is based on the life of a legendary figure, Coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who was an inspiration to the Indian people because of his unwavering commitment and his desire to see his country succeed.
Amit Ravindernath Sharma directed this epic sports biopic, which stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh.
Boney Kapoor's vision
Earlier, Boney Kapoor had spoken about Maidaan, stating that he was amazed that not many were aware of someone as significant as Syed Abdul Rahim in reference to the film. People must honour his accomplishments; he is an unsung hero. Chunni Goswami, Arun Ghosh, Balaram, PK Banerjee, and Franco were all heroes on his squad, and casting Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim was a must. Joining forces with him, the producer is crossing his fingers that their film encourages youth football and that India will soon host the World Cup.
Saiwyn Quadras wrote the screenplay, while Ritesh Shah penned the dialogue. Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla are the producers. Manoj Muntashir Shukla wrote the lyrics, and AR Rahman composed the music. On April 10, 2024—also in IMAX—the film will open in theatres for Eid 2024. Along with Hindi, Maidaan will also be released in Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu.
