The power of his ‘carefully chosen’ words become totally unparalleled. This is exactly what one can see in the just released trailer of his much-awaited film Maidaan. Right from the word go, ‘Maidaan’ comes across as an out and out Ajay Devgn film. That’s why, we thought of choosing the 5 best moments from the film’s gripping trailer, which only enhances everyone’s curiosity to see the film!
The introduction scene
When its an Ajay Devgn film…it is really an Ajay Devgn film. This man simply owns the film right from the word go. The introductory scene in the film, which gets complimented by Ajay Devgn’s voice-over that says, “Hum naa duniya ke sab se bade mulk hai aur naa hi sabse ameer. Aadi duniya humein jaanti bhi nahi hai…”
The perfect kick!
This is a scene which has Ajay Devgn walking in his shirt and trousers with an umbrella in his hand. That’s when he spots a football that comes towards him. The footballer in him immediately comes alive and his lands up launching a perfect kick that, the football simply lands on the other side of the road, despite of an approaching tram!
On the other side of the road are young kids who pick up the football. This scene gets blessed with Ajay’s voice which states, “Football hamaari pehchaan bana sakti hai… kyunki saari duniya football khelti hai. Isi liye agle dus saal tak India ko ek world class tema banaane ki baat yaad rakhni chahiye”.
When Ajay Devgn says “Trust me…”!
This is definitely one of the oh-so-awesome scenes which one can find in the film’s trailer which got released today. With a cigarette in one hand, Ajay Devgn exudes utmost conviction when he is trying to convince the Football Bord by saying, “Trust me, this is just the beginning of the golden era of the Indian football”!
The so-typical husband-wife scene!
This is a scene which seems to be mirroring every house that is home to a sportsman. In this particular scene, there is Ajay Devgn’s wife who is very sweetly referring to football as the ‘other woman’ in his life. She says, “Saut hai hamaari aapki yeh football… ban gayee aaki team?”
Ajay Devgn’s confidence in his football team!
This particular scene will definitely remind the audiences about the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chak De India, wherein he faces the cricket board who doubts the players’ capability. Here too, when the Football Board seems to challenge him about the players’ capability by asking, “Aur agar haarkar waapis aa gaye toh?”. That’s when, Ajay Devgn exudes immense confidence and faith in his team and their performance by saying, “Toh main dobaara koi bhi team ko coach nahi karoonga”!
The goosebumps scene!
This scene again, will surely remind the audience about Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Sattar minute’ pep talk to his players in the dressing room. Here again, it is Ajay Devgn, who peps up his team players by saying, “Sarkaar ko tumse medal ki koi ummeed nahi… jeet paaogey?”. To which, his entire team members say in unison, “YES SIR!”.
That’s when, Ajay utters the lines that is bound to give everyone goosebumps. He says, “Soch ek, samajh ek, dil ek, Isi liye, aaj maindaan mein utarna gyaarah… leikin dikhna…. Ek!”
As for the film, besides Ajay Devgn and Priyamani, the film also stars the celebrated Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh and the veteran Gajraj Rao. The film, which is being directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, is all set to be released during Eid 2024.
