Main Atal Hoon box office collection Day 3 - Pankaj Tripathi’s film sees upward trend, mints ₹2.40 crore

Pankaj Tripathi plays the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Main Atal Hoon. The movie made Rs 1.15 crore on Friday after a drab start. Fortunately, the movie saw a spike in sales during the weekend, taking in Rs 2.1 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, the momentum persisted with an estimated Rs 2.40 crore in collections. With this, the movie made a total of Rs 5.65 crore domestically. 

Co-written by Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav, Main Atal Hoon is directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker, Ravi Jadhav. Key characters in the film are played by Pankaj Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, Raja Rameshkumar Sevak, Daya Shankar Pandey, Payal Nair, Paula McGlynn, and Gauri Sukhtankar.

On Sunday, the movie's overall Hindi occupancy was 15.81 percent. For the morning, afternoon, evening, and night shows, the audience turnover rate was 10.63 percent, 16.64 percent, 20.03 percent, and 15.93 percent, respectively.

The movie is seeing a small but steady growth at the ticket window, which is a result of great word of mouth. There is hope for the movie because of the increasing trend Main ATAL Hoon saw on Saturday. It will be challenging for the movie to stand the test of time though, when Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone's Fighter opens in theaters on January 26.

Pankaj Tripathi on portraying Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Speaking recently, Pankaj stated of his on-screen portrayal of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, "I was wondering if I could do justice to this. But I have attended two of Vajpayee ji's political rallies. I went to listen to him, standing in the crowd five hundred meters away."

Talking about his preparation for the role of the late PM Vajpayee with news agency ANI Pankaj said that you wouldn't feel the same way about modern-day leaders after preparing and reading about Atal ji's characteristics. He added, "Politicians, who were not just his opponents but even his staunchest critics, respected him and adhered to his legislative etiquette."

Pankaj Tripathi's first release in 2024 is Main Atal Hoon. Among the several films he has planned for this year are Metro....In Dono and Stree 2.
