The political biopic, Main Mulayam Singh Yadav, will be premiered in Kolkata at a multiplex where actress Zarina Wahab and other members of the cast and crew will be present. Directed by Suvendu Raj Ghosh, the film chronicles the political journey of the patriarch of the Samajwadi Party Mulayam Singh Yadav. Along with Amyth Sethi, Govind Namdeo, Zarina Wahab, Supriya Karnik, and others, Kolkata’s Ranojoy Bishnu plays an important character in the film.
Born into a humble farmer's family in the small village of Safai in Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav's life was marked by significant struggles and perseverance. The film delves into his early aspirations, influenced by his father who wanted him to become a wrestler, juxtaposed with his ultimate rise in politics under the mentorship of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia. Mulayam's political career is portrayed through various pivotal moments. The film also captures his interactions with other significant political figures, including Indira Gandhi.
The film has been produced by Meena Sethi Mondal, a Kolkata-based educationist cum producer, under the banner of MS Films and Production. The producers feel that this inspiring biopic will resonate with the audience since it’s the extraordinary journey of one of the most powerful political figures this country has ever seen.
