Main Vaapas Aaunga announced: Diljit Dosanjh faces Box Office clash with Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

Diljit Dosanjh’s movie with Imtiaz Ali was announced with a teaser earlier in the day. The movie, featuring Sharvari Wagh as the female lead, is titled Main Vaapas Aaunga. The release date for the movie was also revealed. Interestingly, it will face a Box Office clash with Varun Dhawan-led Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Both the movies are going to be out in theatres on June 12, 2026.

Imtiaz Ali-Diljit Dosanjh’s new collaboration film Main Vaapas Aaunga will release at the Box Office on June 12, 2026. Interestingly, that is when Varun Dhawan-led Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai will release in cinemas. The movie, featuring Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur as female leads, is directed by David Dhawan.

Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh announced Main Vaapas Aaunga through posters and teaser. The story is another from the partition era. It is the tale of love and longing, narrated by a grandfather (Naseeruddin Shah) for his grandson, played by Diljit Dosanjh. The historic romantic-drama also features Vedang Rana and Sharvari in pivotal role. "Can love really be lost? Can home be taken away from someone’s heart? The biggest story of the century is migration. I feel privileged to get the chance to tell such a story on celluloid," is what Imtiaz Ali stated while speaking about his upcoming movie.

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai averted clash with Yash’s Toxic

Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai had already changed its date to avert Box Office clash with Yash’s Toxic. Whether the movie will work things out with Main Vaapas Aaunga again remains to be seen. Interestingly, Varun and Diljit recently worked together in Border 2. They were also expected to collaborate on No Entry 2 aka No Entry Mein Entry but the movie is currently on hold.
