Besides the fact that films like ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, Baazigar', 'Judwaa 2’ and many others were superhits, there is one more thing of commonality between them which binds them all together. And this point of commonality is its superhit music and evergreen lyrics. Speaking of lyrics, today morning, the entire of Bollywood woke up to the sad news of the sudden passing away of the well-known lyricist Dev Kohli, who had not just penned the lyrics of these films, but also of many more films.

As per media reports, the late lyricist Dev Kohli's ‘antim darshan’ will be held at 2 pm onwards at his residence which is at Jupiter Apartment, 4th Cross Lane, Lokhandwala Complex of Mumbai. And the religious last rites of the lyricist would be reportedly performed at 6 pm at Oshiwara Crematorium, Jogeshwari West in Mumbai.

In a career spanning many years in Bollywood, lyricist Dev Kohli had been instrumental in penning the lyrics of many superhit tracks for films like 'Shoot Out At Lokhandwala', 'Musafir' and many others. Known for his calm, cool and composed demeanour, lyricist Dev Kohli has worked under the music direction of many music composers like Shankar-Jaikishan, Vishal-Shekhar, Anand Raaj Anand, Anand Milind, Raam Laxman, Anu Malik and many others.

Lyricist Dev Kohli has penned many chartbuster tracks in his illustrious career that spanned many decades. A few of his hit tracks which had been penned by lyricist Dev Kohli include 'Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen', 'O Saki Saki'… to name a few.

After having begun his writing career in the year 1969 with the film ‘Gunda’, lyricist Dev Kohli, who was born in Rawalpindi (Pakistan) went onto pen more than a hundred lyrics of the songs, mostly for Hindi films. His close associates including musicians Anu Malik, Anand Raaj Anand, Uttam Singh and others will be reportedly paying their respects to the departed soul.
