According to Hindustan Times, Madhuri expressed her excitement to be a part of Prime Video's first Indian Amazon Original Movie in a statement. She added, “I am thrilled to be a part of Prime Video’s first Indian Amazon Original Movie. With Maja Ma, what I am most excited about is my character. It is a role with complex nuances that I have never played before. Pallavi Patel carries enormous responsibility around – as a mother, as a wife and as a contributing member of society with such ease and grace, that it becomes easy to overlook her strength, conviction, and resilience.”

Leo Media Collective and Amritpal Singh Bindra produced the movie. While Sumit Batheja wrote the script and Anand Tiwari directed the film. The movie's trailer, which was released on Thursday, portrays Madhuri as a middle-class mother of two who struggles to uphold the morals she has always held dear. Gajraj Rao, Ritwik Bhowmik, Srishti Shrivastava, Rajit Kapur, Sheeba Chaddha, and Barkha Singh are among the cast members of Maja Ma, which will be available on Prime Video starting on October 6.
