Maja Ma Twitter review: Madhuri Dixit wins hearts as Pallavi Patel

After making waves in Bollywood, Madhuri Dixit is all set to rule OTT. After her OTT debut in Netflix’s The Fame Game, the actress recently graced the silver screen with the Amazon Original film, Maja Ma. The film saw Madhuri essay the role of a devout homemaker who is gearing up for the wedding of her son, whose life is plunged into chaos when a rumour about the former breaks out.

To say that fans were excited to see the veteran actress in the film, would be an understatement. As the film hit the streaming giant’s platform on Thursday, fans flocked to catch Madhuri in action and then took to Twitter to give their two cents about the film.

Madhuri received unanimous praise for her performance as the protagonist, Pallavi Patel. The people who enjoyed the film appreciated the film for its sensitive handling of its subject matter and weaving a complicated, yet heartwarming story around it. “Watched it just now...Overwhelming and amazing movie...!!”, wrote one user. “ Maja Ma is a cool family watch,which feels very relatable at times in ways that can be difficult to put into words!”, wrote another.

Madhuri was showered with praise for her performance, which many agreed was the highlight of the film. One user wrote “@MadhuriDixit acted through her eyes. We can feel her helplessness, her unreasonable emotion of being guilty over something which is absolutely natural”. Her moving performance also seemed to make some viewers emotional as well. Calling the actress a ‘Queen’, one user spoke of how the film had left them laughing and crying.

However, there were a few who the film did not manage to impress. “#MajaMaa is not worth mine, yours or anyone’s time. It’s a non starter as it has nothing of interest”, wrote one user.
