Adivi Sesh’s biographical drama, based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, hit theatres last week and is doing well at the box office. The actor-writer has now shared a heartfelt video, in which he explains how the late soldier has transformed him as a human.

The video, which was shared by Sesh on social media, talks about Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and his positive attitude and character before explaining how he had to try and look like Sandeep to play him in the movie. Sesh also talks about how he had to become a right-handed person for the movie, being a lefty himself.

“Playing Major Sandeep has made me more empathetic, it has made me more kind, it has made me less selfish. The most important part of this journey, more than the film, has been my relationship with uncle and aunty (Major Sandeep’s parents),” he said.

Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s father, K Unnikrishnan, had a glowing review for the movie, after watching it in theatres. “It’s such a good reflection of what we have seen and suffered. It has made us forget all the bad memories. It’s a very well made film (in Telugu and Hindi) and I must congratulate the entire team of ‘Major’ from the bottom of my heart,” he had said on the official page of the movie.

The movie follows Major Sandeep on his journey into the army all the way to his final mission during the Mumbai attacks. While Sesh essays the role of the late Sandeep, the movie also stars Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi and Murli Sharma in important roles.

The movie has received mixed reactions from critics, but has done well at the box office. The movie has reportedly made Rs 40.36 crore at the box office in 4 days, despite competition from Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj and Kamal Haasan’s Vikram.

The biographical drama, which is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, is now available in theatres around the country.
