Making of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt call Karan Johar's film a 'sprawling saga of romance and love'

People who have watched Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani can't get enough of the film. The Karan Johar film is a romantic saga featuring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the titular roles. With the promos and songs, fans are now waiting for the remaining songs to come out soon. However, the makers of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani dropped a surprise by releasing a four-minute, 30-second video of the making of the film. The video features Karan in the director's chair, creating the beautiful romantic comedy it is now.

The making video also features Ranveer and Alia talking about the film and the fun they had during the whole process. Ranveer is heard saying that Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is "a love story, a sprawling saga of romance with colour, family value, and love." The actor further says, "Rocky is the quintessential stud Delhi boy. Extremely vain, he's the kind of character that makes you smile and makes you feel good. I feel like Karan collaborated to write a character for me."

Alia was also talking about her character, stating, "Because I was being Bengali for the first time. As a Bengali girl brought up in Delhi, I wanted to get a little bit of an accent—not really heavy-handed, but to understand a bit of that language. So I did some tutoring there."

Ranveer revealed that "it was obviously important to maintain the body." Talking about the same, Alia went on to share, "When you say get into skin, I literally have to get into some skin of that character because I was wearing really sexy saris through the film. For me, I have to be in the best shape of my life. A lot of the time, we would both be really sweating it out in the gym before a shoot."

She further spoke about her co-stars by saying, "Shabana Ji (Shabana Azmi), Churni (Churni Ganguly), and Tota (Tota Roy Chowdhury) are all such fabulous actors."

Ranveer added, "Dharam Ji (Dharmendra) is just a ball of love. He is the most grounded, down-to-earth superstar. Well, Jaya Ji (Jaya Bachchan) has that authority; when she walks onto set, everybody is on alert and paying attention."

Talking about Jaya, Alia also added, "She's a team player; she makes it about the film that you don't really need to do anything because you just respond to them because they're so fine and there's so much in the moment."

Sharing about being a part of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, the Darlings actor revealed, "So I was excited to do a full-fledged Karan Johar-ish cinema kind of movie."

Ranveer added, "My first Dharma film as the leading man is with the man himself, Mr. Karan, and he's got such good energy, such positive energy. It was like a touchstone of positivity."

Further praising Karan, Alia went on to say, "He is one of the greatest directors Indian cinema has ever seen. And the best part about Karan is how receptive he is to feedback and collaboration."

And Ranveer concluded by saying, "He lives and breathes entertainment; he lives and breathes cinema. Sometimes I wonder how he does it. If you asked me how it was working on Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, I'd tell you I had the most fun. It was like friends coming together to make a movie."

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is currently playing in theatres.
