Superstar Mohanlal’s fame and fandom extend beyond the confines of Malayalam cinema. For the Kannada audience, the actor’s endearing on-screen collaboration with the late Puneeth Rajkumar in the 2013 film Mythri remains etched in the memory. Therefore, the news of Mohanlal collaborating with director Nanda Kishore has charmed many as the legendary actor hints at a potential return to Kannada cinema after a long gap.

A couple of days ago, Mohanlal took to Twitter to announce that he will be working with Nanda Kishore on a film titled Vrushabha, a multilingual project brimming with action and emotions. Although the actor or the makers are yet to disclose other key details of the project such as the remaining cast and the number of languages it would be conceived in, fans in Karnataka would certainly hope to see ‘Lalettan’ mouth Kannada lines.

In a recent interview, Nanda Kishore shared that he is looking forward to directing Mohanlal in Vrushabha and that the actor will be seen in multidimensional characters in the film. The Pogaru director added that the film will be an ‘out-and-out' commercial entertainer.

Vrushabha is being produced by AVS Studios in their maiden production venture with Abhishek Vyas, Praveer Singh, and Shyam Sunder credited as the producers.

And to make things more exciting, the makers are getting a Telugu actor on board to play a principal character in the film. Recently, Mohanlal told Gulf News that Vrushabha would be a father-son drama in which he essays the role of the father with a major Telugu star coming in to play his son.

Vrushabha, as revealed by Mohanlal in the same interview, will be a visual spectacle that shall even feature battle action sequences shot in chilling wintry weather. The narrative spans generations and the shooting is expected to begin in July of 2023.
