Malayalam actress Arthana Binu accuses father Vijayakumar of harassment, shares video evidence

Malayalam actress Arthana Binu has accused her father Vijayakumar, also an actor, of harassing her and her family with death threats. Arthana took to social media to share evidence supporting her claims.

Following the divorce of Arthana's parents, Vijayakumar and Binu, she has been residing with her mother, sister, and grandparents in their maternal house. Allegedly, Vijayakumar has repeatedly trespassed into their residence and places of work, creating a hostile environment for the family.

Arthana shared a video on social media on Tuesday, capturing the moment when her father jumped over the wall of their house. Additionally, she posted a photograph showing him yelling at them through the window.

Expressing her distress, Arthana wrote in her social media post, "I am putting up this post as even though we called the police station for help at around 9:45 am, no one has taken any action till now. The person in the video is my biological father Vijayakumar, who is also a Malayalam film actor."

She continued, "This video shows him going back after successfully trespassing our residence by jumping over the wall to make his way to the property, despite the existence of a protection order issued around ten years ago in favour of me, my mom, and my sister."

Arthana further revealed that her family has been dealing with this issue for years, filing multiple police cases against Vijayakumar. Recounting the incident, she said, "Today, he barged into our compound, and since the door was locked, he was threatening us through the open window. I heard him threatening my sister and grandmother, even to the extent of killing them."

The distraught actor also disclosed the nature of the threats she received from her father. "He also threatened me to stop acting in movies and mentioned that he would go to any extent if I didn't comply. He even demanded that I act only in movies of his choosing. He kept banging on the window and yelling, making derogatory remarks about my grandmother and bad-mouthing the team of my Malayalam movie, which I have just completed shooting for," she added.

Arthana's plea for help and the evidence shared on social media has garnered widespread attention. She is known for her performances in movies like Mudhugauv, Shylock, and Kadaikutty Singam.
