Malayalam anthology Cherathukal to release on 10 OTT platforms

Since the past few months, Malayalam films taking the digital route have opted to stream on multiple OTT services. Recent movies such as Parvathy’s Aarkkariyam, Rajisha Vijayan’s Kho Kho and Tovino Thomas’ Kala were released on more than three OTT platforms. The upcoming anthology Cherathukal though will be streaming on a record 10 OTT services when it releases on June 17.

The makers of the anthology have announced that they have tied up with 10 Malayalam OTT platforms to ensure that the content reaches the Malayali audience in India as well as abroad. The platforms where Cherathukal will be streaming are Neestream, Saina Play, First Shows, Zinea, Cave, FilMe, Koode, Roots Video, High Hopes Film Factory and Limelight.

Cherathukal has segments directed by six filmmakers including Anu Kurisinkal, Fawaz Muhammed, Jayesh Mohan, Shajan S Kallai, Shanoob Karuvath and Sreejith Chandran.

Mareena Michael Kurishingal, Adil Ibrahim, Mala Parvathy, Manohari Joy, Parvathy Arun and Sivaji Guruvayoor in pivotal roles. Mareena plays a nurse in her segment while Mala Parvathy will be seen as a nun.

The technical crew also included noted names such as editor CR Srijith, cinematographer Josekutty, composer Mejo Joseph and singers Vidhu Pratap and Nithya Mammen.

The trailer of the movie was released a few days ago by Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Suresh Gopi. Before its OTT release, the film was also screened in several film festivals across the country as well as abroad.
