Producers of the Malayalam blockbuster Premalu are gearing up to expand its reach at the box office by dubbing it into Telugu. The team behind the movie recently met with superstar filmmaker SS Rajamouli, seeking his support for the Telugu version.
"To all Telugu Fans, Happy news is on the way. Let's Premalu," tweeted Bhavana Studios, along with a photo of the movie director Girish AD and Malayalam scriptwriter Syam Pushkaran with Rajamouli.
SS Rajamouli endorses Premalu
It is speculated that Rajamouli might take on the role of distributing the Telugu version of the movie in the Telugu states. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

Rajamouli has consistently expressed his admiration for Malayalam talents, including technicians, screenwriters, actors, and directors. Now, he seems to be supporting Malayalam movies by actively promoting them.
Unlike Tamil movies, Malayalam films don't traditionally have a massive fan following in the Telugu states. However, this trend is slowly changing, with regional audiences showing more willingness to watch movies in other languages, especially through dubbing.
Recently, Malayalam superstar Mammootty's psychological horror thriller Bramayugam was also dubbed in Telugu and released theatrically.
The Telugu version of Premalu is expected to hit screens on March 8.
Premalu's box office success
Before its release, Premalu wasn't burdened with lofty expectations. However, once it hit the screens, the film swiftly gained momentum at the box office, captivating audiences worldwide. Despite the arrival of new releases, Premalu continues to resonate with viewers, keeping the box office registers ringing. According to reports, the film is fast nearing the Rs 70 crore mark at the box office against its moderate budget of less than Rs 5 crore.
Written and directed by Girish AD, Premalu is a romantic comedy starring Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Set against the Hyderabad backdrop, the film revolves around an average Joe's struggles to impress a girl way out of his league.
