The thriller begins with the highlights of the beautiful and wild Camargue region of Southern France. This is were Malditos make you meet Sara, a strong and determined woman who leads a Gypsy community. Sara, and her two sons are fighting a tough situation of the water level rising, putting their and the community's houses in grave danger of being washed away. To save all of them, Sara and her sons are forced to do things that are against the law.
But this is not their only challenge they are facing. The family is also hiding a terrible secret that has been kept for seven long years. This dark past have become a heavy burden now, and as they struggle to survive against the forces of nature and the law, they must also face the consequences of the secret they have been so carefully hiding from the world.
