Just as the summer vacations are set to end, it looks like our celebrities are ensuring that they make the most of the season by heading out on a holiday for a much-needed break. And surprisingly, the Maldives seem to be returning as a preferred destination.

Let's recap: Back when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and most of the world was shut down, the Maldives was among the few holiday destinations that chose to open up and were welcoming visitors, ensuring that strict protocols were in place.

Of course, the Maldives was always a top holiday destination, even before the pandemic, thanks to its pristine beaches, natural beauty, and the option to spend a few days in secluded locations.

As soon as they could travel, Indian celebs started making a beeline to the Maldives, because of its proximity to the country and because there was really a dearth of options when it came to international travel.

So, social media was flooded with every celeb worth their salt posing on the beautiful beaches of Maldives. And we all watched enviously, locked at home, with going to the grocery shop double-masked counting as our daily (or sometimes weekly) dose of adventure.

Thankfully, those days are way back in the past, and we hope that we never have to see them again. Now that the world has opened up, we are back to having plenty of choices when it comes to going on holidays.

Those starved of regular time off have been planning their 2023 summer holidays since the year began, because, hey, now the options are endless.

Several celebrities have also taken off on breaks, but look at the feeds of some actors and even cricketers over the last few days, and you will notice that the Maldives seems to be back on the travel wishlist.

Actor Sunny Leone is the latest Bollywood star to make the most of the sunny Maldives (pun totally intended). After her Cannes debut last month, where her film Kennedy received a stupendous response, Sunny is currently on a break with her family — husband Daniel Weber and their three kids, daughter Nisha and twin sons Noah and Asher.

The family is having a ball snorkelling, swimming, and just taking it easy on their vacation.

Rakul Preet Singh is also currently in the island nation, along with her boyfriend, Jackky Bhagnani. Both actors have been constantly updating their social media pages with pictures of all the "magical moments" that they have been experiencing on their trip.

Another family whose philosophy on their recent Maldives holiday was "don’t worry, beach happy" and not taking any calls in the process is Soha Ali Khan, husband Kunal Kemmu, and daughter Inaaya.

While everyone is contemplating if TV’s Surbhi Jyoti and Rithvik Dhanjani are a couple or not, the both of them are making everyone go green with envy and pink with admiration with their many sun-kissed pictures and fun reels on the beaches of the Maldives. The actors are clearly having the time of their lives and living it up in the exotic Maldives.

Cricketer Rinku Singh, who has to be more than just happy with his performance in the recently concluded IPL series, is celebrating his super streak with some much-deserved time off in the Maldives. The 25-year-old took to Instagram to share several pictures from his holiday that soon went viral. And no one could miss his abs on display.

In April, RRR star Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela also chose the Malvides for their babymoon, spending a few good relaxing days together in the island nation before they prepare to begin a new phase of their lives.
