Mamata Banerjee presents Mahanayak Samman to Anirban Bhattacharya, Subhashree Ganguly, Srabanti Chatterjee, Koel Mallick, Ankush and others

On July 24, Monday, the death anniversary of the legendary actor Uttam Kumar was observed. On this day, the West Bengal Government organised the Mahanayak Samman. Shubhashree Ganguly, Srabanti Chatterjee, Ankush Hazra, Anirban Bhattacharya, Sohini Sarkar, Sayantika Banerjee, Koel Mallik, and director Haranath Chakraborty were present at the event. 

During the ceremony, four actresses – Koel, Srabanti, Subhashree, and Sayantika – and one actor, Ankush, were awarded the Mahānāyak honour. On the same day, special film awards were bestowed upon actress Sohini Sarkar and Anirban Bhattacharya. Veteran director Haranath Chakraborty was honored with a special film award. 

Subhashree took to her social media to post pictures of her award-winning moment. Her colleagues, including Mouni Roy, Nusrat Jahan, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, and others congratulated her on the post. 

On the other hand, filmmaker Subhrajit Mitra, who is currently working with Srabanti in Devi Chowdhurani, congratulated the actress. “Team Devi Chowdhurani is extremely elated to share that, our lead protagonist, Srabanti Chatterjee has received the coveted Uttam Kumar award by the Government of West Bengal, from Didi herself..in remembrance of the evergreen matinee idol Sri Uttam Kumar on his death anniversary,” he said.
