Mamitha Baiju is a Malayalam actress who found widespread fame with her superhit Premalu, which opened the door for several star-led movies in Tamil, including Vijay’s highly anticipated Jana Nayagan. Now, another Malayalam actress Rajisha Vijayan has said that she always knew Mamitha Baiju would become a star as she was star material.

What Rajisha Vijayan said about Jana Nayagan’s Mamitha Baiju

Rajisha Vijayan, who is awaiting the release of Masthishka Maranam, recently spoke about Mamitha Baiju with whom she had acted in the 2021 Malayalam film Kho Kho. Rajisha played the lead role in Kho Kho, while Mamitha was seen in another key role in the movie. In a recent interview with Manorama Online, Rajisha said, “When I discussed with several people after Kho Kho, I said that Mamitha would become a star. People had asked me why as she had done small roles in many films. But I told them she was star material. She would surely become a star.”

Further explaining why she felt so, the Bison actress said, “I felt that while working with her in Kho Kho. Her demeanour, the eagerness to learn something, and even screen presence. And she became one.”

Kho Kho is a Malayalam sports drama, which featured Rajisha as a PE teacher at a school, while Mamitha played the student Anju, the captain of the Kho Kho team. Kho Kho is available for streaming in Telugu on ETV Win via OTTplay Premium.

Mamitha Baiju first found widespread recognition when she played Sona in the movie Super Sharanya, starring actress Anaswara Rajan. But it was the romcom movie Premalu with young star Naslen that truly put Mamitha on the map. The Malayalam actress went on to star in actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan’s movie Dude, which emerged as a hit. She is part of two other biggies - actor-politician Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Tamil star Suriya’s upcoming movie Suriya46. Jana Nayagan, which was slated to release in theatres on January 9, stands indefinitely postponed due to censor-legal issues.
