Mammootty-starrer Bazooka, which also features actor-director Gautham Vasudev Menon in a key role, was among the most anticipated releases of February 2025, slated to hit theatres on Valentine’s Day. But in the latest updates, Mammootty’s game thriller will not be releasing on February 14 and is getting a new release date. Read on to know why Mammootty's Bazooka got postponed and the new release date of the game thriller, which is directed by Deeno Dennis.
Mammootty’s Bazooka, touted to be a game thriller, has been postponed from its scheduled release date of February 14, 2025. Sources hint that the CGI work is the reason why the film is not keeping its Valentine’s Day release date. The Bazooka makers are reportedly not satisfied with how the film has turned out to be, and want to refine it further to ensure a spectacular experience at the cinemas.
After the CGI work is completed, Bazooka is now slated to hit theatres on April 10, 2025, the film's producers confirmed to OTTplay. This will mean that the star movie will light up the screens during the festive season of Vishu 2025. Fans online are already excited that a Mammootty film is finally releasing on Vishu.
Deeno Dennis marks his directorial debut with the Mammootty-starrer. For the unversed, Deeno is the son of screenwriter Kaloor Dennis who has collaborated with Mammootty on several projects in the past.
With Mammootty's Bazooka pulling out from the race, a bunch of other Malayalam films would be heaving a sigh of relief. Bromance, starring Arjun Ashokan, Mathew Thomas and Mahima Nambiar; Antony Varghese Pepe's action-packed Daveed and Anaswara Rajan and Sajin Gopu's Painkili are slated to release on February 14, 2025. With the megastar's thriller not in contention, it would be more of a level playing field for these films, which mostly star talented but relatively young actors.
