After speculations about Mammootty-starrer surfaced online, Marco producer Shareef Muhammed took to Instagram to issue a clarification.

Rumours about a debutant filmmaker making a film with Mammootty in the lead that would be produced by Marco producer Shareef Muhammed have been doing the rounds on social media. Now, Shareef Muhammed has come forward to clarify that these rumours are not true but he did concede that talks are on with the megastar about an upcoming project.
After speculations about Mammootty-starrer surfaced online, producer Shareef Muhammed took to Instagram to issue a clarification. While posting one such forward that claimed he would be bankrolling the Mammootty film with a debutant, Shareef Muhammed labelled it as fake on his Instagram Stories. He also put up a note on Insta Stories, saying that while discussions are on with Mammootty, nothing is confirmed. He also requested people to refrain from spreading fake news. “Once everything is confirmed and ready to go, we will officially announce the details and provide a complete update,” he further said.
Meanwhile, Unni Mukundan-starrer Marco, which is jointly produced by the leading man and Shareef Muhammed under Unni Mukundan Films and Cubes Entertainments, is gearing up for its release. Marco will hit the theatres on December 20, 2024, in five languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
The Malayalam action thriller film is a spin-off of Unni Mukundan’s character Marco from the 2019 Mikhael, which starred Nivin Pauly in the lead. In the upcoming film, written and directed by Haneef Adeni, Unni Mukundan will be seen as Marco Jr. Haneef had helmed the 2019 film as well.
Jagadish is also said to be playing an intense negative role in the film. In several interviews, Jagadish has spoken out a bout the violent nature of his character in the action thriller. While claiming that Marco will be one of the most violent films in Malayalam, Jagadish said that he himself dreads the cruel deeds done by his character.
Siddique is another notable name in the cast, which also includes Sreejith Ravi, Anson Paul, Yukti Thareja, Riyaz Khan and Kabir Duhan Singh.
